Chapter 5

It was easily the happiest Neo had ever been. Then they pulled up to the entrance to the compound. Mina would meet the leader and the head of the Protectors. He had already texted him about it ahead of time. He pulled up to the garage entrance and ran his card through it. The gate lifted up and he pulled into a spot. He turned off the ignition, unbuckled his seat belt and got out as did Mina. It looked like an ordinary garage. It even had a lot of different cars in various parking spots. As they got out their stuff, a voice said, “So this is the infamous Mina, it is nice to meet you.”

She looked over at the voice, and it came from a pretty sexy guy. He was tall but not too tall. The guy is tan, has black hair to his shoulders, and warm brown eyes.

He smiled at her, “I am Davik Blade, leader of the Protectors ...the Vampire Witch ones at least. I’m Neo’s boss and we have been looking for you for sometime. I spotted you while shopping at Nikki’s. And it was easy to tell you are one of us since I am mated to one who was with me at the time,” he said.

She smiled, “Nice to meet you and I am glad Neo rescued me when he did.”

Neo smiled, “Thanks, sir.”

“And I will definitely be happy to show you around here. This community is small and we are even working with others to help them stand against evil. There is even talk of forces multiplying at a very fast rate. We need all the help we can get. And each couple is given an apartment when they stay here,” he said.

Mina had her bag with her and she walked toward him to follow him. Neo was beside her, too. And he had his bag slung over his shoulder. They followed Davik. And once they got out of the garage it led to a hallway with people coming to and from the place.

“We are on the first floor. And it has a cafeteria, library, gym, ritual room, various apartments for couples and a lab room. There is even a control room and records room,” he said.

She took all this in and it was unbelievable. She couldn’t believe how fast life had changed.

“We can drop off your stuff and then you can meet my scientist since he needs your help,” he said.

They were led to the place where they were staying and the place itself was huge. All stores and there were even little shops, too. It was it’s own little community. Mina loved the sites and a lot of people looked at her curiously. They made it to the apartments and Davik took out two key cards and gave them to Neo and Mina.

“These are how you access it and it is really secure.”

She smiled, “Good it means no one will be able to just walk in.”

Davik smiled, “Nope, and you can’t be taken since it’s a secret location.
